Footpath made from Headstones
March 2002

Footpath made from head stones. This path, situated behind the old Ouseburn School,
was created in the 1930's using about 200 headstones
from the Ballast Hills Burial Ground.
The burial ground, known locally as Plaguey Fields,
was used from the seventeenth century up until 1853.
