This photograph shows the old airship hanger, known locally as "the shed", that used to overshadow  the village until about 1960 (I think).
The houses to the left form part of Arcot Avenue. The photo was taken in the late 1940's by Albert Carr, formerly of Nelson and now resident in Winnipeg, Canada. My thanks to Albert for permission to use the photograph.
